Pair of Silver Solomnic Column Candlesticks

These are elegant and slightly taller than the usual table candlestick. They look stunning as a pair or as a set of four for the larger dining table. I use a set of four at home and they always seem to draw admiration and praise from guests. Sometimes candelabra are just too obstructive to fellow diners across the table.
The stems are Solomnic columns [an ancient architectural form], made initially from carved wood. The silver is then beaten over the wood template and applied in a heavy gauge and the wood is burned out and removed completely. A painstaking, yet ancient process. The base and the tops are lightly hand hammered to refract the light and give an attractively soft patina. What Georg Jensen used to call the “Moonlight Glow”. These Solomnic candlesticks are a perfect solution, provide great lighting and will work beautifully on every type of dining table.
